Qatari multinational telecommunications company, Ooredoo is focusing on its pioneering e-Sport‌s initiatives at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2022, a global industry convention in Barcelona, Spain.

Ooredoo Qatar is embarking on a journey to become a leader in e-Sports, as the gaming industry around the world continues to grow significantly with the e-Sport‌s markets in the GCC region are growing rapidly with an annual growth rate of approximately 5 percent in terms of market value.

The journey began in 2021 with the launch of Ooredoo’s own eSports brand, Ooredoo Nation – Gamers’ Land. Ooredoo has partnered with Quest LLC, a Qatari eSports expert, to create and develop the brand and Ooredoo Arena, its tournament arm.

Ooredoo Nation – Gamers’ Land offers gamers a platform to showcase their talents and connect with other gamers in Qatar and beyond. Thousands of gamers took part in the event as it reached millions of tournaments around the world through social media and other platforms.

Ooredoo Nation – Gamers’ Land is supported by a number of additional gaming initiatives. Gamers can enhance their experience with Gaming Add-ons that offer more data for specific games and the option to redeem virtual currency to enhance their gaming profiles, while Ooredoo TV’s dedicated eSports channel, Channel 0, live-streams Ooredoo Arena gaming events and other gaming-related content.

Ooredoo Arena tournaments also give the chance to win contracts to compete for the Ooredoo professional eSports team. The team will take part in major events around the world, including the FIFA 2022 Ooredoo eCup by Ooredoo, which is set to host in Qatar and will be held in a format similar to the FIFA World Cup in which teams from countries compete with each other.

Ooredoo Arena PUBG: The Mobile and Fortnight tournaments broke viewership record numbers and were ranked as the most-watched event in January 2021.

Within the current and long-term framework of cooperation, Ooredoo & Dell Technologies is expanding their multifaceted, long-term partnership to include cooperation in the eSports and eGaming industry. This relationship will strengthen Ooredoo & Dell Technologies’ commitment to providing end-to-end solutions to get players into the game.
