Qatar’s hospitality sector earned greater appreciation and validation for its quality of service as several hotels in the country were honored at the prestigious 2020 Conde Nast (CN) Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
Singapore-based luxury hotel Raffles which is owned by leading Qatar-based hospitality firm Katara Hospitality was honored with the top position in the ‘Top 10 Hotels in Singapore’ award category by the CN Traveller’s Readers Choice Awards. Meanwhile, Katara Hospitality’s Hôtel Royal Savoy Lausanne in Switzerland made it to the ‘Top 15 Hotels in Central Europe’ list.
Recognition for Qatari Hotels
Doha-based Mandarin Oriental was first on the ‘Top 15 Hotels in the Middle East’ list with W Doha placed second and Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli being twelfth on the list.
With a near-perfect score of 99.04 Raffles Singapore commanded the ‘Top 10 Hotels in Singapore’ category leaving behind all other major hotels in Singapore.
The Conde Nast Traveler’s review for Raffles Singapore stated that “One of Singapore’s most attractive qualities is its cosmopolitanism, its openness to the world: Raffles embodies that spirit.”
Mandarin Oriental, Doha
Doha’s luxury hotel Mandarin Oriental topped the ‘Top 15 Hotels in the Middle East’ list with a score of 99.72, leaving behind many well-known hotels of the Middle East.
Conde Nast’s review for Mandarin Oriental, Doha read, “Part of the revitalized downtown arts district, Barahat Msheireb was designed to be the town square of contemporary Doha, and this hotel (Mandarin Oriental, Doha) fits in perfectly with the neighborhood’s upscale vibe.”
