Billionaire entrepreneur Mr. Elon Musk has stated that the purpose of his new artificial intelligence company, xAI, will be to “understand the universe.”

In a Twitter Spaces audio chat, the billionaire discussed his vision for xAI for the first time while deviating into topics such as the Earth’s evolution and the fragility of civilization.

Mr. Musk announced the formation of xAI after accusing companies like OpenAI and Google of developing the technology without considering the risks to humans. OpenAI and Google did not respond to requests for comment.

xAI firm is an Alternative to ChatGPT to “understand the true nature of the universe”. The team at the firm includes former employees of OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Tesla, DeepMind, and the University of Toronto.

Mr. Musk said that “xAI would seek to build a “good AGI,” as an alternative to Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI. AGI stands for artificial general intelligence and refers to AI that can solve problems like a human.”

Furthermore, the billionaire noted that his new artificial intelligence company will use public tweets from Twitter to train its AI models and work with Tesla on AI software. Mr. Musk further noted that “a relationship between his companies would have “mutual benefit” and could accelerate Tesla’s work in self-driving capabilities.”

In April 2023, Mr. Musk announced his plans to introduce TruthGPT, an AI system focused on seeking maximum truth, to compete with Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Bing AI, which also strives to comprehend the fundamental nature of the universe.
