UK-based travel commerce platform Travelport has extended its partnership with the national carrier of Bahrain, Gulf Air. As part of the prevailing multi-year agreement, the aviation group will now be able to deploy Travelport Rich Content and Branding.

The expansion of the deal with the commerce platform adds a new path to Gulf Air’s rebranding journey. By taking on Travelport Rich Content and Branding, the aviation group will now be enabled to offer its attractive brand proposition, which was updated in 2018, directly to travel agencies by giving them a graphically rich experience when searching for and booking its branded fares.

Commenting on this expansion of the partnership, Christopher Binnion, Senior Manager, Revenue Management at Gulf Air stated that, “we are pleased to expand our long-standing partnership with Travelport to the field of rich content retailing. We are proud of our brand and look forward to reaping the benefits of extending its presence directly to travel agents across the world while improving access to our enticing ancillary offers.”

Launched in 2014, Travelport Rich Content and Branding has enabled airlines to display branded fares and rich content more than 660 million times via online travel agents and corporate booking tools. The solution will also offer travel agents access to Gulf Air’s complementary offers like extra legroom, baggage and more.

David Gomes, Head of Regional Air Partners, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Travelport, stated that “We’re delighted that Gulf Air is now one of over 275 airlines around the world that use Travelport Rich Content and Branding to deliver a differentiated and compelling brand experience to travel agents. “

The Travelport Rich Content and Branding technology help retail, marketing and sales facilities across 68,000 points of sale in 180 countries, which shows the company’s vast appeal and capacity to increase its revenue, Mr. Gomes further added.
