Dubai welcomes tourists from July 7

Strict protocols have been put into place for the travelling residents and citizens and international tourists.

Dubai is set to welcome tourists from July 7 as it will allow passengers to travel in and out of Dubai Airport and has issued new regulations to be followed while traveling.

Foreign nationals holding Dubai visas can start returning from today, 22nd June and International tourists can travel to Dubai from the 7th of July. The citizens and residents can travel abroad from 23rd June to countries that are open to receive them.

The decision was taken under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the follow-up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, by the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management headed by Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Committee has urged the passengers to cooperate with the authorities by following regulations issued to ensure a safe travel experience.

Residents with Dubai issued visas, who are traveling back to Dubai has to take care of:

  1. Obtain approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) and the airline they are traveling in.
  2. Fill a “health declaration form” before starting the journey.
  3. Undergo a PCR test on arriving at the Dubai airport.
  4. Register details in the COVID-19 DXB smart app before leaving the terminal.
  5. Stay inside homes until the COVID-19 results are received.
  6. Quarantine yourself at home for 14 days, if the result is positive.
  7. If the resident stays in a high-density housing facility, they have to be isolated in a separate facility either arranged by the employer or paid for by them.

Moreover, Citizens and residents traveling abroad have to ensure that:

  • They follow the precautionary guidelines issued by the country they are traveling to.
  • They are also expected to fill in the “Health Declaration Form” and undergo a PCR test at the airport.
  • Register your details in the COVID 19 DXB smart app.
  • Stay indoors after returning until the test results.
  • If tested positive, isolate themselves according to the guidelines issued by the Covid 19 Command and Control Center.

The international tourists traveling to Dubai needs to make sure that:

  • They have registered their details on the COVID-19 DXB app.
  • Fill the “Health Declaration Form’ before starting their journey.
  • Have a PCR test with a validity of at least 4 days (96 hours) before departure and produce the proof at the airport on arrival.
  • Otherwise, undergo the PCR test at the airport.
  • All passengers will be subjected to thermal screening.
  • If a passenger is tested positive for COVID-19, they have to mandatorily isolate themselves at an institutional facility provided by the government at the passenger’s expense.

The airline has the authority to refuse boarding to any passenger if they exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.

Dubai has been gradually lifting the lockdown measures across sectors and has received much appreciation for successfully combating the spread of the virus.
