Fans of Keanu Reeves’s John Wick from the movie by the same name have plenty to look forward to in 2021.
Motiongate Dubai, the largest Hollywood-themed amusement park in Dubai has revealed that a ride inspired by the John Wick franchise will be introduced, marking the first time that the action franchise led by Reeves has been transformed into a ride in an amusement park.
Set over a 310-meter track, John Wick, Open Contract will offer up to 2.8 G-force from the 4D free-spin coaster, hitting speeds of up to 64 kilometers per hour.
It is inspired by the film franchise’s activities, offering visitors the opportunity to join The Continental, a hotel that serves as a neutral ground for members of the criminal underworld.
Riders will be offered a ride that imitates the John Wick world’s action as the coaster races down a 4D track that provides freestyle spins forwards and backward.
A spinning coaster based on the heist thriller franchise Now You See Me will also be launched by Motiongate, marketed as the world’s fastest single-car spinning coaster.

Now You See Me, High Roller ride can hit speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour, offering visitors an opportunity to be part of the magicians of the Four Horsemen as they race to uncover a criminal mastermind’s antics.
The coaster experience will feature drops, non-inverted loops and Immelmann twists, which take riders through a 180-degree turn after entering the half-loop section of the track, followed by a half-twist.
Denis Pascal, General Manager, Motiongate Dubai said, “We’re starting 2021 with a bang … We’re continually looking at ways to enhance the Motiongate Dubai experience and we cannot wait to break some world records with these two brand new coasters”.
While the exact launch dates for the two rides are yet to be confirmed, it is expected that they will open in early 2021. The rides will be part of the Lionsgate Zone’s extension of the park, which includes attractions and activities branded by Lionsgate. Lionsgate is the entertainment company behind franchises such as John Wick, Rambo and The Hunger Games.
