UAE’s largest fuel convenience retailer ADNOC Distribution has become the first fuel retailer in the Middle East to introduce the next generation retail experience, the ADNOC Oasis store, which is totally autonomous, contactless, and cashier-free.
According to the statement, the store provides a new, state-of-the-art cashless and contactless payment system and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology-enhanced shopping environment.
ADNOC Distribution has launched its next generation retail experience. The new fully autonomous #ADNOCOasis contactless store uses cutting edge AI and payment technology that allows customers to just grab and go.
The customers will no longer have to queue or wait for staff to become available, and there will be no need to scan items, unlike existing self-service terminals in retail outlets. “Clients only need to tap in with a bank card, Emirates ID, or scan the QR code, pick up the items they need and then simply walk out,” as per the statement.
At the ADNOC Oasis store, payment is taken after the customer leaves the store, either through the app or the bank card used to enter the store, with all details of purchase stored in the app or through an e-receipt.

ADNOC Go outlets will also offer fresh coffee and food, in addition to snacks and other essentials. Customers will also be able to shop as a family using a single QR code for entry. When family members scan the code and enter the store, they will be tracked as a group, and all things taken from the shelves by anyone in the group will be placed in a single virtual basket.
