Winter is finally here and now it’s that time of the year when you say hello to all your jackets, hoodies, and warm clothes. Just like taking care of your clothing style, you have to be very much careful about your winter skincare routines.

People often wonder why they need to wear sunscreen during the winter if they are not exposed to the bright sun. Some people believe that sunscreen is just an optional product for the winter season. The reason for the skepticism among individuals is that most people are not aware that the winter ultraviolet (ultraviolet) rays can be as harmful as the summer sun.

Sunrays
The damaging rays can cause skin problems in individuals

According to the experts, “The ozone layer acts as Earth’s sun-shield and absorbs harmful UV rays. The ozone layer is actually at its thinnest in the winter. Windburn and sunburn also act in unison during the rough winter months. The freezing temperatures and vicious winds that leave your skin dry and agitated allow for UV rays to have a better shot at your skin.”

Wearing sunscreen on exposed skin will keep you safe from these damaging rays, especially when the sun’s rays are strongest between 10 am and 4 pm. So, it is very vital to apply sunscreen if you want to be outdoors.

Experts suggest that choose broad-spectrum sunscreens and lip balms with a minimum of 30 SPF with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as the active ingredient for adequate protection. Also, there are lots of fake and chemical products in the market, and while choosing sunscreen you have to be very careful to get chemical-free and skin-friendly products.

Sunscreen
Sunscreen, also known as suntan lotion, is a lotion, spray, gel or foam, which protects individuals from sunburn.

Our skin is continuously deprived of moisture as there is less humidity in the winters. Dryness shows wrinkles on the surface of the skin and a fine line, and it makes the skin more likely to crack or break. Also, it can even be the reason for the infection in your skin. In this case, using sunscreen in winter will help to restore the depleted moisture of your skin.

So, be prepared to bring the winter glow to your healthy and ever-glowing skin this season with the right sunscreen.
