The UAE-based TGT Diagnostics and Crayon, customer-centric innovation and IT services company from Norway have partnered to develop ‘predictive diagnostics’ for oil and gas operators.

This new AI-powered capability will help operators target the use of their good intervention resources, minimize their carbon footprint and the occurrence of well integrity failures.

The initial offering will emphasize forecasting and monitoring corrosion rates in oil and gas wells. Corrosion is a constant problem that attacks the metal tubes and casings that form wells, threatening their integrity. TGT’s Pulse1 and Pulse4 technology, already provide a comprehensive snapshot of tube condition for proactive maintenance.

Adding a predictive aspect to integrity management programs will help oil and gas operators to deliver energy more efficiently, reduce intervention costs, and lower environmental impact.

“Operators devote significant energy and maintenance resources to protecting well integrity, but failures still occur. The predictive diagnostics we are developing with Crayon will flag integrity weaknesses before they escalate, enabling operators to take action early, keeping wells safe, clean and productive.”

Dr. Dani Abu Ghaida, the Chief Digital Officer of Crayon MEA commented “This partnership presents a joint commitment from both companies to innovate, to Digital Transformation through AI and sustainability. We will work for hand in hand with TGT to transform how operators envision, manage, and maintain their assets through leveraging the full strengths of AI in general, and Predictive Analytics in particular.”

TGT’s diagnostics provide more comprehensive insights, through-barrier diagnostics assess more than the inner workings of the wellbore, viewing the good system in its entirety placing operators in a better position to make more informed decisions about their well and expand its lifecycle.
