Dubai Airports has confirmed that a limited resumption of operations will begin later today, with a small number of flights permitted from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).
Travellers are advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time, as schedules remain subject to change. Passengers are urged to contact their airline for the latest updates regarding flight status and timings.
Emirates airline has also confirmed that it will begin operating a limited number of flights. The airline is accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates. All other flights remain suspended until further notice.
The temporary closure of UAE airspace and suspension of flights across various airports was triggered by regional security concerns from 28 February 2026. The phased reopening of airports across the UAE marks the first step toward restoring full aviation services.
Dubai Airports also reported that a concourse at Dubai International (DXB) sustained minor damage in a recent incident, which was quickly contained. Emergency response teams were immediately deployed and are managing the situation in coordination with relevant authorities. Four staff sustained injuries and received prompt medical attention. Contingency plans ensured that most terminals had been cleared of passengers prior to the incident.
Dubai Airports continues to closely monitor the situation in coordination with relevant authorities, focusing on maintaining the highest standards of operational safety, security, and wellbeing of passengers and staff. The authority also expressed appreciation for customers’ patience and understanding and stated that further updates will be provided as they become available.
