Airbus to collaborate with Indian AI startup for advanced geospatial solutions

Global aerospace and defense organization Airbus will associate with the Indian AI and Deep Learning startup HyperVerge to improve its geospatial services. 

Airbus’ geospatial digital platform OneAtlas which delivers satellite imagery, analytics and services will partner with the Bengaluru-based startup to implement and integrate new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based analysis of satellite data.

HyperVerge is expected to propose new AI-based algorithms for automatic analysis on change detection on Airbus’ Pleiades and SPOT from the optical satellite constellation that provides high-resolution imagery. Airbus’ OneAtlas online service platform will provide the new capabilities for use.

The deal is a first-of-its-kind collaboration for Airbus Defence and Space which the OneAtlas Platform in 2019. The agreement also marks the tenth successful partnership for an Airbus BizLab-accelerated Indian startup and an Airbus corporate entity.

Airbus BizLab is a global aerospace business accelerator where startups and Airbus “intrapreneurs” expedite the transformation of innovative ideas into valuable businesses.

Speaking about the deal, Mr. Siddharth Balachandran, Airbus BizLab Leader, India stated that “The collaboration between Airbus and HyperVerge will help analyze satellite data generated with AI-based algorithms and provide industry-specific insights to facilitate better decision making in urban planning, defense, and security amongst other domains.”

HyperVerge will also gain easy access to premium imagery and industry-specific insights to develop solutions through its association with OneAtlas.
