ADNOC has launched a global liquefied natural gas (LNG) marketing and trading platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).
The platform integrates the marketing functions of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading operations of ADNOC Trading under a unified commercial structure.
It is designed to improve coordination across ADNOC’s LNG activities and support portfolio management, including volumes from ADNOC Gas’s Ruwais LNG project and XRG’s international gas and infrastructure assets. The platform enhances shipping flexibility and improves customer access in global LNG markets.
The initiative will support the management of a growing LNG portfolio and build on its established role as a global LNG supplier. The company is targeting 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of combined marketable LNG capacity by 2035.
Under the new arrangement, LNG marketing activities will be centralized within the platform, while ADNOC Trading will continue to act as the trading counterparty. ADNOC stated that there will be no change to existing customer interfaces.
Existing LNG commercial agreements of ADNOC Gas will remain unchanged. The platform is expected to support optimization of marketing activities and future LNG volumes, including those from Ruwais LNG.
XRG’s LNG portfolio will also be integrated into the structure, supported by its offices and supply hubs in Abu Dhabi and London.
Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO and XRG Executive Chairman, stated that, “With LNG demand set to grow substantially, the world will need reliable, responsible, and trusted suppliers at scale. This world-class, integrated commercial LNG platform brings together the full strength of ADNOC’s marketing, trading, and shipping capabilities to create a single global hub in Abu Dhabi.”
ADNOC has appointed Rashid Al Mazrouei as Chief Marketing & Origination Officer (LNG), responsible for overseeing the marketing of the combined LNG portfolios of ADNOC Gas and XRG. Al Mazrouei will manage LNG origination and marketing from ADGM and coordinate with ADNOC Trading. ADNOC Gas has been active in LNG supply since 1977 and has delivered more than 3,500 cargoes globally.
ADNOC Trading has expanded its LNG trading activities over the past four years and operates from Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Geneva. It continues to manage third-party LNG trading portfolios and freight-related activities.
ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) operate an LNG fleet of 20 vessels, including 14 modern two-stroke carriers, supporting LNG transportation and export operations.
