Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Alswaha, has held a series of bilateral meetings during the Kingdom’s participation in the United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva.

The discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and digital infrastructure, while expanding technical collaboration, fostering innovation, enhancing digital inclusion, and supporting knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives among participating countries.

The meetings were attended by Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Governor Eng. Haytham Alohali, and Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen Khothaila.

Alswaha met with Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed Al Mannai, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Khawaja, Costa Rica’s Minister of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications Paula Bogantes Zamora, and Barbados’ Minister of Innovation, Industry, Science and Technology Jonathan Reid.

The discussions focused on expanding partnerships between Saudi Arabia and the participating countries in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, digital infrastructure, and technical capacity building. The ministers also explored ways to strengthen technological cooperation, promote digital inclusion, support knowledge exchange, and develop high-impact partnerships to deepen bilateral collaboration.

The bilateral meetings took place as part of Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, held on the sidelines of the AI for Good Global Summit 2026. The participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing international cooperation, leveraging emerging technologies to support sustainable development, and promoting a more inclusive and trusted global digital future.
