Riyadh will host the world’s largest cybersecurity challenge during Black Hat Middle East and Africa (MEA) 2026, with the Capture The Flag (CTF) competition set to take place from 1 to 3 December.
The competition is being organized by Tahaluf in partnership with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones (SAFCSP) and Tuwaiq Academy, bringing together leading cybersecurity professionals and specialists from around the world.
The event forms part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen its position as a global hub for cybersecurity and advanced technologies by fostering innovation, developing national talent, and attracting international expertise.
Building on the success of previous editions, the CTF competition follows Saudi Arabia’s Guinness World Records recognition for hosting the world’s largest cybersecurity competition during Black Hat Middle East and Africa.
The 2026 edition will offer prize money exceeding $210,667 (SAR790,000) and will feature the top 150 teams competing in in-person finals in Riyadh.
Participants will take on advanced cybersecurity challenges designed to test practical skills across a range of emerging cyber domains while promoting innovation and technical excellence. Registration for participants from around the world is now open through the official competition website.
Abdulaziz Alhammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Tuwaiq Academy, said that hosting the competition aligns with the academy’s efforts to develop national cybersecurity talent, attract global expertise, and provide a competitive platform for identifying promising professionals and supporting innovation in the sector.
Alhammadi added that hosting the global competition reflects Saudi Arabia’s rapid technological progress and its commitment to building a globally competitive digital ecosystem.
Black Hat Middle East and Africa 2026 is expected to attract thousands of cybersecurity specialists, industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts.
The 2025 edition welcomed more than 45,000 visitors from over 140 countries, reinforcing the event’s position among the world’s largest cybersecurity gatherings and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s standing as a destination for major global technology events.
