The MENA Fintech Association (MFTA), a not-for-profit organization based in Dubai and registered with the Abu Dhabi International Financial Centre (ADGM), has forged alliance with Iraq’s International Smart Card (ISC), aka Qi, as its newest corporate member.
The partnership aims to foster innovation, accelerate the integration of digital payment, and drive inclusive financial transformation across the MENA region.
Under this move, both parties will co-host high-impact events across key regional hubs, gathering fintech visionaries, regulatory leaders, and technology pioneers to engage in dialogue and shape the future of digital finance in the region.
The initiatives aim to provide a thriving platform to address regulatory evolution, foster collaboration, and highlight the next wave of digital finance.
International Smart Card’s entry into the MENA’s fintech community marks a key step toward strengthening cross-border collaborations, fostering sustainable innovation and inclusive growth within the financial sector.
Both parties will collaborate with regional central banks, authorities, and fintech ecosystem stakeholders to develop joint initiatives. In the coming weeks, country-wise key initiatives will be announced, promising exciting opportunities for both fintech leaders and the wider digital economy.
International Smart Card (ISC), a leading provider of digital payments, fintech solutions, and digital identity services, was established in 2007 through a partnership between the private sector represented by the Iraqi Electronic Payment Systems and the public sector represented by the state-owned banks in Iraq.
With an impressive 17 years of experience in the financial technology sector, International Smart Card is considered a leading issuer and acquirer in Iraq. The ISC also stands out for its ‘Qi Card’, the Middle East’s first biometric card that addresses key challenges faced by government employees, pensioners, and beneficiaries of the social security network.
