The winner of Best Airline App was announced during the ‘Battle of the Airlines Apps,’ a unique, side-by-side judged contest that began with travelers nominating their favorite airline app prior to the event.
The five top-rated apps were then evaluated by a jury based on user experience, mobile services, and digital innovation after each airline presented their digital platform.

The digital innovation built into the Qatar Airways app also includes features powered by artificial intelligence. The app has recently welcomed Sama, the world’s first AI Cabin Crew, to the platform to make booking smarter.

As Sama interacts naturally through voice and chat, travelers can simply ask her about destinations, prices, cabin and flight options for her to design a tailored itinerary in real time. Business Class passengers can also view the onboard menu before their flight for Sama to assist with recommendations, and present chef’s specials and specific dietary meals.
