His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan and Prime Minister of Oman, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, attended the Omani-Franco Business Forum in Paris as part of His Majesty’s official visit to France, highlighting efforts to deepen bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
Addressing the Omani-Franco Business Forum, His Majesty the Sultan praised the steady growth of Omani-French economic and investment ties across multiple sectors and stressed the need to intensify joint efforts to explore new investment opportunities and establish promising partnerships.
His Majesty affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman welcomes French business partners and looks forward to increasing Omani investments in France. He also expressed confidence that the Omani investment team would actively pursue investment opportunities wherever they arise.
Major deals at Omani-Franco Business Forum
Organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Business France, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), the Omani-Franco Business Forum focused on strengthening business partnerships between Oman and France.
The Omani-Franco Business Forum witnessed the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding covering energy, industry, automotive, education, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, technology, aviation, space, renewable energy and the perfume industry.
In the space sector, Omani spaceport company ‘Etlaq‘ signed an agreement with French firm ‘Latitude‘ to collaborate on launching light rockets from the ‘Etlaq’ spaceport in Oman. MBsat also signed a memorandum of understanding with ‘Telespazio’ to provide ground station operation solutions and satellite services.
In aviation, ‘Ankaa Space and Technologies‘ signed an agreement with French company ‘Thales‘ as the main Omani contractor for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), covering the supply, installation and operation of next-generation air traffic control radar systems.

In transport, Al Hashar Group signed an agreement with French automaker ‘Renault‘ to distribute Renault vehicles in Oman, while Mohsin Haider Darwish Group entered into a commercial agreement with ‘Michelin’ to supply tyres to the Omani market.
In energy and industry, the National Energy and Engineering Company signed an agreement with French group ‘Sagemcom‘ to assemble smart electricity meters in Rusayl Industrial City. Al Fajar Al Alamia Company also signed an agreement with ‘Saint-Gobain’ to explore investment opportunities in Oman’s natural gypsum sector.
The agreements also included a memorandum of understanding between Amouage Perfumes of Oman and French cosmetics company ‘L’Oréal‘ to cooperate in luxury fragrance manufacturing, talent development and knowledge exchange.
Focus on technology and renewable energy
In education and advanced technologies, Ghubaira International signed multiple partnership agreements with French institutions and companies covering e-learning, school development, cybersecurity certification, artificial intelligence and computer vision applications.

The Omani-Franco Business Forum also announced a 120-megawatt wind power project, with the contract signed in December 2025 through a partnership between Bahwan Group and France’s EDF Group.
A satellite development contract between Oman’s Space Communication Technologies and Airbus Defence and Space was also unveiled, building on an earlier agreement between the two companies.
OCCI highlights growing economic partnership
Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), said the Royal support extended to the private sector and Oman’s rapid economic growth under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik have strengthened the country’s position as a trusted economic partner and attractive investment destination.
He commented that the presence of His Majesty the Sultan and the French President at the Omani-Franco Business Forum reflected the shared commitment to expanding bilateral economic cooperation and supporting private sector partnerships.

Al Rowas stated that the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during the Omani-Franco Business Forum translate that support into practical outcomes, reflecting mutual trust between the business communities and creating broader opportunities in renewable energy, industry, technology, artificial intelligence, aviation, space and services.
He added that the partnerships would promote knowledge transfer, advanced technologies and expertise exchange while encouraging innovation, attracting quality investments and supporting Oman’s economic diversification goals under Oman Vision 2040.
The Omani-Franco Business Forum was attended by the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan, alongside senior officials and French business leaders. The Forum concluded with participants noting that its outcomes reflect the strength of Omani-French economic relations and open new avenues for cooperation across sectors of shared interest.
