Al Khalidiyah Council, affiliated with the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), has launched its annual ‘Eid Fruits’ initiative for the sixth consecutive year, aiming to support deserving families and promote social solidarity during Eid Al Adha 2026.

The Eid Fruits initiative focuses on strengthening community cohesion by distributing fruit baskets to families in the suburb, allowing them to share the joy of the blessed Eid days and enhance feelings of happiness and belonging.

This year’s edition of the Eid Fruits initiative has witnessed a significant expansion in distribution, with 132 large fruit baskets prepared and delivered to beneficiary families. The baskets were carefully selected to reflect the spirit of hospitality and to complement traditional ‘Eid Fwala’ gatherings in homes.

“The Al Khalidiyah Council prioritizes and sustainably implements such initiatives, which transcend their material value to become a strong bridge for strengthening social ties and fostering brotherhood between the council and the residents. This step represents a vital extension and complement to the regular humanitarian initiatives that the council has been organizing throughout the year. The essential and supreme goal that we seek behind ‘Eid Fruits’ is to translate the effective competencies of the council into reality, which aim to achieve social solidarity in its comprehensive sense, and to ensure that this blessed Eid does not pass without all the residents sharing their joy with us, so that Al Khalidiyah suburb always remains one family united by cohesion and harmony.”

The distribution process was carried out under the direct and continuous supervision of the council chairman and his deputy. Members, staff, and the volunteer committee actively participated on the ground, ensuring smooth delivery and engaging directly with residents to bring joy to their homes.
