Sharjah property developer Arada has awarded two contracts worth $123.6 million for the construction of nine apartment buildings at its Aljada mega project in the Muwaileh region.
The buildings, with a total of 740 residences, include the five Sokoon blocks, two new apartment buildings next to the Aljada museum, and the two Gate buildings, which are placed in various locations around the Aljada master plan, where nearly 7,000 units are currently under construction.
The five Sokoon apartment buildings and the two apartment buildings next to the museum are valued at $102.6 million.
Airolink Building Contracting LLC, a Dubai-based contractor with more than 25 years of experience working with significant UAE clients, including the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, won the contract to build these structures.
Construction on the 482 home Sokoon buildings and the 138 home museum-facing buildings, which have not yet been made available for sale will start right away and be completed within 20 months. Both buildings are located in Aljada’s cultural neighborhood, the Naseej District.
The construction of The Gate, situated at the entrance to Aljada with two apartment complexes, was also awarded to Airolink Building Contracting. The 120 residences in The Gate will likewise begin construction immediately and take 16 months to complete, Arada shared.
“Sharjah’s most exciting new master development is now growing at an incredible pace, and we’re working hard towards reaching our goal of completing 5,000 homes during 2022,” observed Mr. Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group Chief Executive of Arada.
“The award of these two contracts demonstrates our commitment to press ahead with construction at new areas of the Aljada site, which is already one of the most complex project sites anywhere in the region.” Mr. Alkhoshaibi added.
According to Arada, the completion dates for the 16-apartment East Village complex, the 12-apartment Nest student housing community, and the second Sarab villa community at Aljada are all set for the end of the year.
