Oman’s Asyad Shipping has launched the giant crude oil tanker ‘Bidbid’ as part of its fleet expansion strategy to strengthen its global maritime presence and support long-term growth in the international energy transport sector.

The vessel is one of four very large crude carriers scheduled to join the company’s fleet under its long-term expansion strategy focused on increasing shipping capabilities.

The tanker was launched during a ceremony attended by Engineer Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Hatmi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Group, along with members of the executive management team of Asyad Shipping.

‘Bidbid’ was built by Hanwha Ocean and is equipped with advanced systems designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and support compliance with international environmental regulations.

The vessel also includes gas purification technologies aimed at improving environmental performance and operational efficiency.

According to the company, the addition of the tanker supports ongoing efforts to expand fleet capacity in response to growing international demand for crude oil transportation services.

The expansion is also expected to improve operational efficiency and provide additional flexibility in serving global energy markets.
