Bahrain’s Labour Fund ‘Tamkeen’ is doubling its financial grants available to businesses operating in most adversely affected sectors as it expands its Business Continuity Support Program to include additional beneficiaries.

HE Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Tamkeen, reaffirmed that the directives announced by HRH the Crown Prince come as part of Bahrain’s comprehensive efforts to reduce the social and economic impact of COVID-19.

The Kingdom’s Business Continuity Support Program will partially cover the operating expenses of qualified small and micro-enterprises (MSMEs) to maintain their business continuity and better manage their recovery planning during these unprecedented times.

Tamkeen has developed an operational plan for the efficient allocation and delivery of funds to achieve its goals with conditions and deadlines to be announced soon.

Tamkeen’s Business Continuity Support Program has expanded its scope from initially supporting small and micro enterprises to include taxicab drivers, public transport, and bus drivers, driving instructors and kindergarten and nursery workers, supporting more than 15,600 companies and 900 Bahrainis to date.
