The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has received the prestigious Certified Government Innovative Organization (CGInO) certificate from the Global Innovation Institute, attaining the top seven-star rating for its pioneering innovation practices.

The accolade recognizes the FTA’s outstanding achievements in institutional innovation and underscores its global leadership in implementing best practices within the government sector.

The CGInO certification is among the most distinguished global accreditations for institutional innovation, granted to entities that successfully embed sustainable innovation principles across their strategies, operations, and service delivery.

Achieving the seven-star rating reflects the Authority’s advanced integration of strategy, operations, human capital, and modern technologies, alongside demonstrable impacts on efficiency and service quality.

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Mulla, Director-General of the FTA, received the certificate during a meeting with representatives of the Global Innovation Institute at the Authority’s headquarters in Dubai. The event was attended by Jasim Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of FTA’s Support Services Sector, and senior officials from both the Authority and the Institute.

“We have obtained this global certification through intensified efforts to ensure the continuous development of institutional performance across all sectors of the UAE’s tax authority infrastructure. Such achievements serve as a strong incentive to continue launching further initiatives and innovations aimed at providing greater facilitation in the services delivered to taxpayers through an institutional environment that encourages innovation and creativity.”

Jassim Al Zarooni, Chief Innovation Officer at FTA, added that, “This achievement represents a significant milestone in the Authority’s journey to embed a culture of institutional innovation. Innovation has become a core component of our daily operational methodology and a key driver for developing services and processes, as well as enhancing the taxpayer experience.”

The FTA credited the accomplishment to the integrated efforts of its Innovation Team, led by Jassim Al Zarooni and Deputy Head Mouza Al Yassi, which prepared the assessment documentation and ensured compliance with all accreditation requirements.

The certification process included a detailed review of institutional records and operational practices to verify alignment with global innovation standards.

This marks the FTA’s third consecutive year of certification, but this year’s distinction lies in the seven-star rating, the highest international recognition awarded by the Global Innovation Institute.
