King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has signed an agreement with the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) to enhance research collaboration in the fields of life sciences, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, rehabilitation technologies, and nanotechnologies.

The agreement aims to establish a long-term partnership between KAUST and IIT focusing on joint research projects that leverage the strengths of both institutions.

It also includes academic programs for student and researcher exchanges, as well as organizing scientific events to transfer innovative research outcomes to the industrial sector.

Further, the partnership is a significant step in accelerating innovation and addressing global challenges by integrating advanced technology with scientific expertise.

The signing of the agreement reflects KAUST’s ongoing commitment to enhancing international collaboration, contributing to the development of its research capabilities and scientific progress.

Through establishing such promising partnerships, KAUST aims to achieve significant breakthroughs in innovation and address key challenges across various industries.

Recently, KAUST identified the top 10 recommended locations for solar and wind energy storage through a new research study. These locations will contribute to accelerating the Kingdom’s transition to renewable energy sources, enhancing water resource management, and strengthening food security in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Last year, UConn signed an agreement to collaborate with KAUST in scientific areas with regional and global impact, notably focusing on pressing challenges in artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, clean energy, and health technologies.

The aim of both institutions is to develop an innovative model for global collaboration: one that bridges research and real-world applications, driving technology commercialization and societal benefits.
