Madaeen Al Doha, MTD Group ink JV deal to ensure water sustainability in Middle East

Madaeen Al Doha Group, Qatar-based leading business group engaged in various sectors like contracting, sports, media, f&b and technology, has entered into an agreement with the Netherlands-based water infrastructure provider MTD group, to set up a joint venture company.

MTD is a global firm that connects customers to temporary water solutions. The company that undertakes 1500 projects per year offers onsite safe drinking water and wastewater treatment solutions for customers in the events, expo and industry markets.

Currently, the availability of affordable usable water is a major issue in the Middle East, and the new JV company, MTD Middle East Central Trading & Contracting LLC will take up the responsibility with their sustainability initiatives to improve the water balance in the region.

The agreement was signed by Madaeen Al Doha Group Chairman, Sheikh Faisal Bin Jassim Al Thani and Managing Director of MTD Group, Hans Verhoeven, in Doha.

Commenting on the agreement, Sheikh Faisal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman Madaeen Al Doha Group said, “We are very optimistic about the support that a unique company like MTD can bring to Qatar and the region. Our country will continue to host international sporting events in the coming years and MTD will continue to support us to deliver unforgettable experiences. In addition to that sectors like the oil and gas and public services can really benefit from this unique water solution.”

Now, it was time for us to take the next step, to set up our own MTD Company with an office and depot to support our growing international customer portfolio. We are expecting sustainable growth for our joint venture MTD MEC T&C LLC, not only in view of the upcoming events like the FIFA ARAB Cup and FIFA World Cup but also with businesses in other sectors like public services, temporary housing and offshore.”
