Oman Mining Development Company (OMDC) has signed a partnership agreement with Kazakhstan-based Solidcore Resources for a copper project in North Al Batinah Governorate.

Solidcore Resources will acquire a 60 percent stake through a phased investment mechanism linked to technical and investment milestones.

The agreement supports the exploration and development of the project through a structured approach, with progress based on achieving specific technical and investment targets.

The copper project is located within concession area 11B of Oman Mining Development Company, around 29 kilometers from Sohar city in North Al Batinah Governorate.

Oman Mining Development Company has carried out extensive exploration activities at the site, including drilling programs, aerial and ground geophysical surveys, geological and geochemical studies, and satellite image analysis. The results have indicated promising mineral potential in the area.

Technical assessments show that the mineralization is of the volcanic sulfide type containing copper and gold, with potential geological extensions to the north.

Exploration findings have identified mineralization zones that could support the development of an economically viable resource, along with additional exploration targets within the concession area.

The next phase of the project will include further drilling programs, advanced technical studies to improve confidence in mineral resource estimates, and assessments to determine the project’s economic feasibility.

The agreement marks Solidcore Resources’ first exploration investment outside Kazakhstan since its establishment. The company stated that the investment reflects its plans to expand its portfolio and enter new markets while contributing mining expertise to Oman’s developing minerals sector.

Oman Mining Development Company highlighted that the partnership supports its strategy to attract international investments, accelerate mining project development, increase local content, and strengthen global partnerships in the minerals sector.

Engineer Matar bin Salem Al Badi, CEO of Oman Mining Development Company, remarked that the agreement represents a step in implementing the company’s strategy to develop high-value mining projects with international partners that have technical expertise and advanced technologies.

Al Badi added that Solidcore Resources was selected following an evaluation of its operational experience, mining project development record, and technical and financial capabilities.

The partnership facilitates project evaluation, development activities, knowledge transfer, and the growth of national capabilities.

Al Badi commented that the initiative aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by supporting economic diversification and strengthening Oman’s position as an investment destination in the mining sector.

Vitaly Nesis, CEO of Solidcore Resources, underscored that the Oman project represents the company’s first exploration expansion outside Kazakhstan and supports its strategy to diversify its investment portfolio.

Solidcore Resources is a Kazakhstan-based mining company and one of the major gold producers in Central Asia.
