The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has added Zhonggu Logistics’ new CRX shipping service at Jeddah Islamic Port to boost the Kingdom’s port competitiveness regionally and globally and to keep trade moving smoothly in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

The new CRX shipping service at Jeddah Islamic Port links it with key regional and international ports including Ningbo and Nansha in China, Aden in Yemen, Sokhna in Egypt, and Aqaba in Jordan. The CRX shipping service has a capacity of up to 1,500 TEUs, strengthening Jeddah’s connectivity with important trade hubs across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

This route is part of a broader expansion of Jeddah’s maritime links, supporting Saudi Arabia’s role as a global logistics hub and enhancing regional trade and supply chain resilience.

The enhanced connectivity facilitates smoother trade flows and positions Jeddah as a critical maritime gateway in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals. The CRX service also complements other recent shipping routes introduced by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) to further boost capacity and trade between these regions.

This CRX shipping service adds to existing Jeddah routes operated by various shipping lines that connect to ports in China, Jordan, Egypt, and other strategic locations around the Red Sea and beyond, with container capacities ranging from around 1,100 to over 3,700 TEUs, thus significantly expanding the port’s maritime network and trade volume potential.

Overall, this development signifies a key milestone in expanding Jeddah Islamic Port’s international shipping capabilities and reinforcing its position as a major logistics hub facilitating trade between Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It also advances the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.

Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on the Red Sea thanks to its strategic location and 62 multipurpose berths, giving it a central role regionally and internationally and strengthening the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector.
