“The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and subcontractors are paramount to our business. Throughout the pandemic, we have taken extensive health and safety measures and continued the implementation of our ‘Injury and Incident Free’ campaign to embed a culture of zero harm. We continued to uphold an exemplary commitment to operating to the highest international standards and effectively managed occupational health, safety, environment, and well-being within the organization.”

Nakilat’s commitment to sustainable operations is further highlighted through its first-ever Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) report published in 2021. The report explains how the company is managing health and safety, climate change, human capital management and governance practices.

The report also indicates various methods the company has used for enabling sustainable growth across its operations to positively impact its people, the community and the environment while creating value for its stakeholders and shareholders.

In order to compete for the ‘Sword of Honor’ title, initially, Nakilat had to earn the maximum five stars in the British Safety Council’s health, safety and environmental management audit scheme in the period August 2020 – November 2021.

Nakilat had also remotely demonstrated to an independent panel of experts that it was strongly committed to upholding excellence in health, safety and environmental management throughout its business.
