The Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with the Regional Consulting Network, a member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, has organized a virtual training program titled ‘Consultant in Sustainability Applications in the Business Sector.’
The new Qatar Chamber initiative aims to enhance professional capacity and promote sustainable business practices across the private sector.
The four-day program was delivered by Dr. Ali Al Ibrahim, an expert in sustainable development, with the participation of trainees from the State of Qatar and several Arab countries.
The session explored the key dimensions of sustainable development, with a particular focus on the economic aspect, which emphasizes addressing poverty and reducing unemployment as essential pathways to achieving inclusive prosperity. It also highlighted the importance of the efficient and effective use of resources, alongside their sustainable development, to support long-term economic stability and growth.
It also addressed the social dimension of sustainable development, which focuses on enhancing inclusive participation, particularly by empowering women and encouraging their effective involvement in society and the workforce. The discussion further highlighted the importance of improving access to quality education, strengthening good governance systems, and upholding principles of justice, democracy, and human rights as key pillars for building equitable and resilient communities.
In addition, the session covered the environmental dimension of sustainable development, which focuses on preventing environmental degradation and discouraging unsustainable development practices. It also emphasized the importance of conserving natural resources and protecting ecosystems to ensure environmental balance and long-term sustainability.
Recently, Qatar Chamber, in cooperation with the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Qatar Chapter and the Young Entrepreneurs Club, organized a dialogue forum titled ‘Head. Heart. Guts.’ The forum explored entrepreneurial leadership amid growing challenges and risks, highlighting the importance of strategic decision-making in an increasingly dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment.
