Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in cooperation with Microsoft, has launched a unified platform to centralize and upgrade its services, boost operational efficiency, empower the private sector, and deliver more advanced digital services to consumers and investors.

MOCI emphasized that the launch of the platform aligns with its efforts to accelerate the transition toward an integrated digital government, leveraging Microsoft’s global expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.

Built on Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365, the platform’s first phase integrates over 140 electronic services within a unified digital environment, covering licensing, permits, and registration. It also lays the groundwork for an integrated framework of interactive AI to support the country’s economy and business sector.

The unified platform focuses on improving the efficiency of government performance and simplifying procedures, through automating daily operations and updating existing systems, which contributes to raising operational efficiency, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing institutional flexibility.

The platform also provides advanced digital tools for ministry employees that support data-driven decision-making, along with continuous 24/7 support via virtual assistants, and customized services that meet the needs of businesses, while adhering to the highest standards of security and privacy.

Ahmed Ali Al Kuwari, Director of the Information Technology Department at MOCI, said that the unified platform, developed with Microsoft, is a pivotal step toward a more advanced and efficient digital government, improving service quality for consumers, speeding up innovation, and strengthening Qatar’s position as a regional digital innovation hub in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy.

Ahmed El Dandachi, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, stressed that Microsoft upholds the highest privacy and security standards in supporting MOCI’s digital transformation, noting that the platform safeguards confidential data, offers a reliable digital environment that supports business growth, and builds trust in digital services to unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation that benefit the Qatari economy and overall business climate.

The platform also enables the private sector to complete its transactions electronically swiftly and efficiently, reducing the need for in-person reviews, saving time and effort, and contributing to improving the business environment and enhancing competitiveness and economic sustainability.
