Beban, an entrepreneurship-themed reality show produced by Hope Ventures, the investment arm of Hope Fund, has partnered with Kuwait Finance House – Bahrain (KFC-Bahrain) to boost the kingdom’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and support its entrepreneurs.

Beban revolves around entrepreneurs pitching their businesses before a panel of regional investors for investment and strategic business development opportunities. The show aims to shed light on success stories and facilitate the co-investment of high-potential businesses alongside the private sector to strategically accelerate their business growth in regional and international markets. Season 1 resulted in a commitment of 5 deals worth over $1,000,000 in total and $120,000 worth of advance orders.

Season 2 will be bigger, louder, and more exciting as it expands to include entrepreneurs and strategic business opportunities from Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Season 2 will also comprise an exciting new element to the show, a crowdfunding platform that will allow the public to invest in the opportunities presented on the show from the comfort of their homes.

“We are pleased with this strategic partnership with Hope Ventures. They have been doing very meaningful work to help the entire startup and SME ecosystem in the Kingdom of Bahrain. They have also created a wonderful platform for young Bahraini entrepreneurs to pursue their innovative ideas and provide them with the correct tools to achieve success.”

The introduction of the platform, which is licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), makes Beban TV show the first interactive reality TV show in the world with a crowdfunding element to it, further allowing businesses to raise investment from numerous investors.

KFH-Bahrain is committed to its mission of focusing on enabling innovation and encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship as a powerful driver of the national economy, a goal shared with Beban. The partnership will contribute to taking Bahraini businesses to international markets and accelerating their growth.

Mr. Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayed, Chairman of Hope Fund said that “I am proud to witness partnerships with the private sector to further support and grow Bahraini youth in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Beban’s partnership with KFH Bahrain is a prime example as they invested in harnessing the growth and success of high potential Bahraini businesses and their merited founders.”
