Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Fund (TDF),has inaugurated Rixos Murjana Resort, in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) as the largest ultra all-inclusive resort in Saudi Arabia and a landmark destination along the Red Sea coast.
The project, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s expanding hospitality and leisure sector, was enabled by TDF as investor and financier, in partnership with Emaar The Economic City, master developer of KAEC and FTG Development Co as the project developer.
The Rixos Murjana Resort is a comprehensive family destination featuring ‘Murjana Waterpark‘, the first fully integrated hotel water park in the Kingdom, with 11 diverse water attractions. The resort will welcome visitors from within and outside the Kingdom at KAEC.
Designed as an ideal destination for families and those seeking integrated leisure experiences, Rixos Murjana Resort features 488 rooms and suites with diverse sea views, in addition to 33 villas, a fully equipped fitness center, a sports complex, and meeting and conference facilities. The project will create 250 jobs for Saudi nationals, reflecting its developmental dimension.
Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb stated that the inauguration of Rixos Murjana Resort represents an important step in the development of distinctive tourism destinations in the Kingdom and reflects the readiness of tourism projects to enter the operational phase and receive visitors from within and outside the Kingdom.

Al-Khateeb noted that the project embodies TDF’s role in transforming investments into tangible destinations that improve the quality of life, expand tourism options for families, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The inauguration took place in the presence of TDF CEO Qusai bin Abdullah Al-Fakhri and Rixos Hotels Chairman Fettah Tamince.
