SABIC has cemented its reputation as an innovation leader, winning recognition for five of its innovative solutions at the Edison Awards for the sixth consecutive year.
SABIC’s innovative solutions earned significant recognition at the Edison Awards, securing awards across three categories:
- Material Science
- Energy and Climate Resiliency
- Clean Water, Food, and Agriculture
The company was honored with one gold, two silver, and two bronze awards, which were presented at the Edison Awards Gala in Fort Myers, Florida, USA, in the presence of innovation leaders, senior business executives, designers, and academics.
Commenting on the accomplishment, Dr. Faisal M. Alfaqeer, SABIC CEO and Executive Board Member, said that, “Winning this recognition for the sixth consecutive year is a testament to our uncompromising pursuit of innovation. By prioritizing market-focused, groundbreaking solutions, we ensure that innovation remains our primary engine for growth. This milestone reinforces our path toward becoming the preferred world leader in chemicals.”

In the Materials Science category, SABIC has won three awards: NORYL V0150TW / V0150IR2 resin engineered for the solar energy market; ULTEM SU3102P reactive oligomer thermoplastic toughening solution used in aerospace thermoset composites; and LNP ELCRES NP copolymers that provide manufacturers with solutions they can rely upon when addressing concerns over PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), which are linked to potential health risks.
In the Energy and Climate Resiliency category, SABIC was recognized for its breakthrough membrane process, HybSi, that replaces energy-intensive distillation for drying of chemicals, reducing energy consumption by 70 percent.
In the Water, Food, and Agriculture category, SABIC Agri-Nutrients was recognized for its innovative method of making bio-organometallic granules into agri-nutrients and soil bio-amendment, enhancing soil health to improve nutrient uptake. The unique sustainable mineral fertilizer creates a new generation of enhanced urea.
