Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has held a workshop with the National Industrial Development Center (NIDC) and Airbus on the Kingdom’s national helicopter manufacturing project.
The workshop, attended by Bandar Alkhorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, brought together 20 local and international suppliers to discuss opportunities for international partnerships, technology transfer, and investment in helicopter manufacturing.
The discussions focused on supporting the development of a local helicopter manufacturing industry and strengthening cooperation across the aviation value chain.
Participants also reviewed opportunities to localize advanced manufacturing technologies and increase the participation of Saudi companies in the aerospace sector.
The ministry highlighted Saudi Arabia’s industrial strategy for the aviation sector, with a particular focus on helicopter manufacturing.
It also outlined the incentives, industrial programs, and investment support available to local and international companies seeking to establish manufacturing operations in the Kingdom.
The workshop provided a platform for direct engagement between local manufacturers, global suppliers, and government entities involved in the aviation industry.
The initiative explored ways to facilitate knowledge transfer, strengthen industrial capabilities, and support the localization of aviation technologies.
The program follows earlier cooperation between the National Industrial Development Center and Airbus to expand aviation manufacturing in Saudi Arabia.

The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this year to explore opportunities in helicopter manufacturing, engineering, assembly, maintenance, repair, and related industrial services.
