The Saudi Ministry of Energy has announced the successful restoration of full pumping capacity through the Kingdom’s critical East-West pipeline, following recent disruptions that impacted key energy infrastructure.

The operational and technical teams have reinstated the pipeline’s capacity to approximately 7 million barrels per day within a short timeframe.

The rapid recovery underscores Saudi Arabia’s ability to respond swiftly to supply disruptions and maintain stability in global oil markets.

Rapid recovery of key oil assets

The ministry confirmed that production at the Manifa oil field has also been fully restored, recovering around 300,000 barrels per day that had been temporarily affected.

The disruption was part of a broader impact on the Kingdom’s energy system, which included a temporary loss of about 700,000 barrels per day in East-West pipeline capacity, alongside reduced output at both Manifa and the Khurais oil field.

While Manifa operations have returned to normal, the ministry noted that restoration work at the Khurais field remains ongoing. Full production capacity at Khurais is expected to be announced once technical efforts are complete.

Strengthening supply reliability

The swift restoration highlights the operational resilience of Saudi Aramco and the broader Saudi energy infrastructure.

The ministry emphasized that the Kingdom’s crisis management capabilities and technical expertise enabled a rapid response, minimizing the duration and scale of supply disruptions.

Saudi Arabia remains a cornerstone of global energy markets, and the quick recovery reinforces confidence in its ability to ensure uninterrupted oil flows to both domestic and international markets.

The restoration of pipeline capacity and production volumes is expected to stabilize supply chains and support global economic activity, particularly at a time when energy security remains a key concern for major economies.

The East-West pipeline, also known as Petroline, is a vital artery that transports crude oil from the Eastern Province to export terminals on the Red Sea, bypassing strategic chokepoints. Its full restoration is therefore critical not only for Saudi exports but also for maintaining stability in global oil logistics.
