Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, has held a high-level multilateral government meeting in Brussels aimed at deepening bilateral economic relations, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Belgium.
The meeting brought together Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy and Agriculture, David Clarinval, as well as Minister of the Middle Class, Self-Employed, and SMEs, Éléonore Simonet.
Discussions focused on strengthening economic ties between the two countries and expanding cooperation in key sectors, particularly industry and mining. Both sides explored opportunities to enhance investment partnerships, promote knowledge exchange, and advance collaboration in strategic industries that support sustainable economic growth.
The meeting underscored the long-standing and distinguished bilateral economic relations between the two kingdoms and provided a platform to review and explore opportunities to further expand investment partnerships in the industrial sector. Discussions also focused on multiple avenues for enhanced cooperation, including the exchange of expertise, transfer of knowledge, and adoption of innovative solutions and advanced technologies across vital and strategic industries.
Additionaly, the meeting emphasized enabling small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to fully benefit from the opportunities presented by the National Industrial Strategy and the Kingdom’s comprehensive Strategy for the Mining Sector, thereby promoting sustainable economic development and advancing shared economic and technological interests.
The meeting comes as a key part of Minister Bandar Alkhorayef’s visit to Belgium, focusing on joint opportunities in pharmaceuticals and medical manufacturing. These efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to make the Kingdom a leading industrial power and a global hub for mineral production and innovation while driving sustainable economic growth.
