Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority (DGA) has joined the AI Sandbox in Digital Learning Initiative, reinforcing national efforts to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in education, strengthen digital transformation, and enhance innovation across government services.

The AI Sandbox initiative, led by the National eLearning Center (NeLC), brings together government entities within a national digital ecosystem designed to accelerate the deployment of AI-powered solutions, promote government integration, and improve the efficiency and quality of digital learning.

The DGA said its participation in the AI Sandbox initiative aligns with its mandate to strengthen digital governance, support government entities in adopting emerging technologies, and help create innovation-driven digital environments. The move is aimed at fostering closer collaboration among public sector organizations while improving government services in line with international best practices.

The DGA said that the AI Sandbox initiative will accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies across government entities, strengthen digital governance, and improve the delivery of public services. It also supports wider efforts to integrate AI into education and other priority sectors while promoting innovation and collaboration across government.

The initiative has received international recognition, with the World Bank’s 2026 report describing Saudi Arabia’s use of AI in education as a leading national model for advancing responsible innovation and improving digital learning.

The report underscored Saudi Arabia’s progress in integrating emerging technologies into education through collaborative government initiatives that promote innovation while maintaining strong governance and digital standards.

The DGA said its participation underscores its commitment to supporting national initiatives that strengthen government collaboration, expand the adoption of innovative digital solutions, and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s leadership in AI and digital governance.

The authority added that the initiative supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by accelerating digital transformation, improving government efficiency, and advancing the Kingdom’s position as a global innovation hub.
