The ‘Asaqefah Innovation Sandbox’ program has been launched in Madinah as part of efforts to foster innovation in the tourism and services sector.
This move allows university students across Saudi Arabia to develop technology-driven solutions aimed at improving the visitor experience in the city.
The Asaqefah Innovation Sandbox initiative reflects a broader push to engage young talent in creating practical, scalable innovations that support service enhancement and digital transformation within the Kingdom’s growing visitor economy.
The initiative, organized by Asaqefah business development company in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and in collaboration with the College of Computing and Information Systems at the Islamic University of Madinah, utilizes emerging technologies and AI applications.
The Asaqefah Innovation Sandbox program provides an integrated experimental environment that enables participants to transform their innovative ideas into practical prototypes and scalable solutions. It offers structured support and resources to help students refine concepts, test feasibility, and develop technology-driven outcomes applicable in real-world settings.
Furthermore, it seeks to strengthen technical skills, bridge academic learning with practical application, and align with current trends in innovation and digital transformation.
Asaqefah Innovation Sandbox advances AI-driven solutions
At its core, the program aims to support university innovators and enable them to leverage modern technologies to develop solutions that improve visitor services, while promoting the use of AI and emerging technologies to address challenges and deliver more efficient services.
According to the statement, the initiative forms part of Asaqefah’s efforts to support the technology innovation ecosystem, build effective partnerships between academic and technical sectors, and empower national talent to develop impactful solutions that serve visitors and enhance service quality.
