The Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has launched Qatif Cinema as part of the ongoing Qatif Calendar activities, introducing a new open-air cinematic experience along the Corniche at the Wahatna Farhana venue.
The initiative aims to enhance seasonal entertainment offerings by combining film screenings with a coastal leisure setting. The event will run for 18 consecutive days until June 14.
It operates daily from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, featuring three film screenings per day. The schedule is regularly updated to accommodate a wide range of cinematic genres and audience preferences, with films selected according to their respective age classifications.
Qatif Cinema offers visitors an outdoor viewing experience by the sea, with a dedicated large screen, structured seating arrangements, and supporting amenities.
Food and beverage services are also available on-site, creating a fully integrated entertainment environment designed to appeal to families, tourists, and cinema enthusiasts.
Organizers said the film lineup will be refreshed periodically throughout the event to ensure variety and sustained visitor engagement over the duration of the program.
Tickets for screenings are available through the Webook platform, with showtimes varying according to the daily schedule.
Qatif Cinema forms part of the broader Qatif Calendar, which features a diverse mix of activities spanning sports, heritage, entertainment, and adventure experiences. Events hosted along the Qatif Corniche include cycling races, marathon events, and fishing competitions, reflecting the city’s coastal identity.
The calendar also includes ‘Souq Al Qatif,’ a heritage-inspired market experience designed to showcase traditional culture in a modern format, along with classic car exhibitions for enthusiasts of vintage vehicles.
Another key attraction, ‘Rimal Al Qatif,’ offers adventure-focused activities, including off-roading experiences for visitors seeking outdoor recreation.
