Get ready to see more of Saad, Kalb and the rest of the Masameer gang on Netflix soon.

Myrkott, the Riyadh-based studio behind the adult-animation franchise, has signed a five-year exclusive deal with Netflix. This means that real soon the studio will be delivering more Saudi-focused shows and films to one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world.

Also the collaboration would mean new Masameer series seasons, as well as a number of Masameer movies. Previous animation seasons will undergo special edits before they are added to Netflix’s expanding regional content catalogue.

Allegedly an entirely new adult animation series is part of the contract. It may, however, be awhile before we get to know more about the project.

Abdulaziz Almuzaini, Myrkott’s chief executive and co-founder, said the company believes that the relationship extends beyond just the aspects of production.

“By working with Netflix we inspire Saudi and Arab talents to dream big and support an ecosystem that recognises equal opportunity, talent and creativity. These are the values that fueled Myrkott in its pursuit of excellence throughout the years,” he said in a statement.

Masameer: The Movie on Netflix was released earlier this year by the animation studio. The film follows characters Saltooh, Saad and Kalb on their adventures as they attempt to join a superhero community after being driven out of their cafeteria and home after complaints about it being in a dilapidated state.
