The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority’s (SDAIA) Sawaher system is driving major improvements in managing government efforts during this year’s Hajj season (1446 AH).
The advanced Sawaher system, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, utilizes the latest data and artificial intelligence technologies.
It analyzes live broadcasts, video recordings, and images from smart analysis cameras to enhance security monitoring and help ensure a safer Hajj experience for all pilgrims.
According to the statement, the Sawaher system is instrumental in managing and analyzing vast datasets and developing customized analyses to measure Hajj indicators and pilgrim behavior.
It employs some of the world’s most advanced algorithms for density and crowd counting, providing crucial support for government agencies in implementing Hajj plans and accurately tallying pilgrim numbers. The system also offers real-time updates displayed through sophisticated operating interfaces.
5,000+ cameras integrated into Sawaher system
For Hajj 1446 AH, over 5,000 cameras have been installed and integrated into the Sawaher system, covering more than 80 permanent and seasonal locations across the holy sites and major land and air entry points. This extensive network has significantly bolstered the efforts of over 18 government agencies dedicated to serving pilgrims, empowering more than 600 users from their cadres.
Furthermore, SDAIA has developed and activated over 16 algorithms specifically for crowd management and provided more than 20 dashboards to support crucial decision-making processes.
The Sawaher system offers over 80 distinct services and has equipped more than 100 workstations within operations rooms and monitoring centers. This comprehensive technological integration plays a vital role in elevating response efficiency throughout the Hajj season, as per the statement.
