The Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah (SRTA), in collaboration with the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), hosted the first tech meeting titled ‘Digital Communication Horizons’ on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD).
The event focused on exploring AI technologies to enhance staff’s technological knowledge and support the broader goal of smart transformation.
Eng. Yousif Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, and Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Jarwan, Director of the Authority’s Transport Affairs, attended the meeting, as did staff and AI-specialized companies, highlighting the event’s role in supporting the Authority’s digital innovation goals.
The Digital Communication Horizons meeeting featured interactive seminars led by global technology companies. Hikvision kicked off with a workshop on smart gadgets, while Enterprise discussed AI and data services.
An accompanying display featured local and global companies such as Etisalat, Eze Link Telecom, and Hikvision, showcasing innovative digital products with exclusive employee discounts.
Digital Communication Horizons highlights AI shift
According to the reports, the Digital Communication Horizons event serves as a testament to SRTA’s proactive approach in integrating AI technologies to foster innovation, improve service delivery, and contribute to the sustainable development of Sharjah’s transportation ecosystem.
The event underscored SRTA’s commitment to aligning with Sharjah’s broader digital transformation goals, as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi. Established in 2014, SRTA has been instrumental in enhancing transportation services, managing road infrastructure, and formulating strategic plans to improve the emirate’s transport sector.
The event finished with the recognition of the participating entities. The Authority confirmed the program’s success in increasing private-sector collaboration and implementing cutting-edge telecom solutions to meet future smart goals.
