stc Group, Saudi Arabia’s digital enabler, has rolled out phase two of its innovative ‘New Calling’ initiative in Riyadh, introducing a pilot service that enables real-time Arabic–English translation during voice calls.

The new service utilizes an advanced ‘New Calling’ network powered by comprehensive Large Language Models (LLMs), allowing users to speak naturally in their preferred language while hearing high-accuracy, context-aware translations of the recipient’s responses.

This ensures seamless communication without interrupting the natural flow of conversation. The launch underscores stc’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and bridging communication barriers across the Kingdom.

Currently available to selected customers in Riyadh, phase two builds on the initial milestone announced in 2024. The pilot demonstrates stc’s focus on enabling effortless communication for diverse user segments, including residents, expatriates, and business professionals.

The service integrates low-latency network-level processing, secure voice network intelligence, and speech models optimized for both Arabic and English.

This ensures that translations are not only fast and precise but also natural, contextually relevant, and secure, maintaining the highest standards of privacy and information protection.

By embedding cutting-edge interpretation capabilities into the native calling experience, stc allows users to conduct cross-language conversations effortlessly, from everyday chats to complex business discussions, without needing separate translation tools.

The phase two commercial pilot will expand gradually over the coming months, following user feedback collection and performance assessments, paving the way for the introduction of additional languages, new capabilities, and nationwide rollout.
