UAE and Lebanese Presidents discuss bilateral relations

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with His Excellency Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The discussions also explored ways to enhance cooperation in support of mutual interests and to promote the prosperity and well-being of their peoples.

The meeting also addressed the latest developments in Lebanon, with particular attention to ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the country’s security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Both sides underscored the importance of supporting initiatives that help reinforce national institutions and promote long-term peace and resilience across Lebanon.

Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon go back many years and have developed in different ways depending on regional developments and Lebanon’s economic and political situation.

Although there have been periods of political strain, both countries have largely kept diplomatic communication open and continued to engage, especially on humanitarian, consular, and development issues.

President Aoun expressed his appreciation to His Highness for the UAE’s support for Lebanon and its people, and wished the UAE continued progress and prosperity.

Furthermore, the two leaders also reviewed a range of regional issues of mutual concern, with particular focus on recent developments across the Middle East. They exchanged views on key challenges and emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to promote stability in the region.

They underscored the importance of sustained efforts to strengthen security and stability, while advancing peace across the region. Such efforts are essential to supporting the development, prosperity, and well-being of the region’s nations and peoples.
