UAE to contribute $27mn to establish new hospital for children in Kosovo

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations with Mr. Albin Kurti, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo.

During the discussion, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed informed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to contribute $27 million (25 million euros) to establish a new hospital for children in Kosovo.

“Both the parties also discussed ways to enhance them across various domains in order to achieve the mutual interests of the two countries and benefit their people,” as per the statement.

Mr. Kurti expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE for this generous initiative that enhances the quality of life for the children of Kosovo.

The top officials reviewed the outcomes of HH Sheikh Abdullah’s working visit to Kosovo last April and its role in enhancing cooperation between the two countries to serve their development goals.

Further, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed underscored the distinguished bilateral relations between the UAE and Kosovo and the two countries’ keenness to enhance joint cooperation in all sectors.

Earlier this year, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed discussed UAE-Kosovo cooperation and prospects to boost their collaboration across various sectors with with Ms. Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual concern, as well as the situation in the Balkans and relevant regional and global developments.
