The Abu Dhabi Government has launched the “Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027,” focused on accelerating the emirate’s journey towards an AI-powered government.

The goal of this strategy, implemented by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) in collaboration with Abu Dhabi government entities, is to cement the emirate’s position as a pioneer in AI-driven government and will deploy $3.54 billion (AED13 billion) to foster innovation and technology adoption in the emirate.

The strategy is set to develop a robust digital infrastructure, creating a flexible and scalable foundation to drive full adoption of sovereign cloud computing and process automation across government operations.

In addition, it comprises the creation of a unified digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, aimed at simplifying processes while boosting productivity and efficiency.

As part of this pioneering strategy, the Abu Dhabi government will focus on equipping its citizens with AI skills. Around 200 innovative AI solutions will also be implemented across various government services, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for AI-driven innovation.

The strategy also fosters the development of comprehensive guidelines and frameworks, ensuring the highest cybersecurity standards to anticipate and tackle future challenges efficiently.

“The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027 reflects our leadership’s vision of being an AI-native government, seamlessly integrating AI across all government systems for a future that is proactive, agile and fully technology-enabled. By incorporating AI, cloud technologies, and data-driven insights into our government’s DNA, we will transform public service delivery, optimize government operations, and drive sustainable economic growth.”

The strategy is expected to contribute over $6.54 billion (AED24 billion) to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by 2027 and support Emiratization efforts by generating over 5,000 employment opportunities.

Building on over a decade of digital evolution, the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy shifts the emirate from smart services to AI-powered services. Recent initiatives such as the third evolution of the TAMM platform, TAMM 3.0 and the Abu Dhabi Program for Effortless Customer Experience, mark a key step forward in integrating in AI, sustainability, cloud computing, and data analytics.

Through major initiatives, including partnerships with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence for upskilling, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) for large language models, and G42 for AI infrastructure development, and other global partners, Abu Dhabi is solidifying its status as a pioneer in digital governance and sustainable development.
