Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has received the AI Vision and Strategy Award at the 2026 Manufacturing Leadership Awards in the United States.

The award recognizes the company’s implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and artificial intelligence across its operations as part of its ongoing digital transformation.

The initiative applies advanced digital capabilities to improve operational processes, production systems, and overall business performance.

The Manufacturing Leadership Awards are hosted annually by the Manufacturing Leadership Council, part of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in the United States.

The program recognizes organizations advancing manufacturing through operational excellence, innovation, and digital technology adoption.

Digital transformation program

EGA launched its digital transformation program in 2021 to integrate digital technologies across its operations, processes, and systems.

According to the company, the program has generated approximately $100 million in financial impact through the implementation of more than 80 Industry 4.0 use cases.

These include AI-powered vision systems that conduct real-time quality inspections during carbon anode production and predictive tools that analyze market movements in key commodities.

The company said these applications have improved operational efficiency, production processes, and business decision-making.

“This award recognizes the progress we have made in embedding digital technologies and artificial intelligence across our operations to deliver measurable improvements in safety, performance, and efficiency. By combining world-class industrial expertise with advanced digital capabilities, we are strengthening EGA’s position as the technology provider of choice for the global aluminum industry while supporting the UAE’s ambitions to lead in Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence.”

In 2024, EGA commissioned the region’s first 100 percent renewable energy-powered industrial data centers at its Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah sites.

During the same year, the company partnered with Microsoft to launch one of the region’s first digital manufacturing platforms, supporting the wider deployment of Industry 4.0 applications across its manufacturing operations.

The latest award follows EGA’s designation as an Industry 4.0 Global Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum in 2025, making it the first industrial company in the UAE and the first aluminum producer globally to receive the recognition.
