AD Ports Group has established a multimodal inland logistics network linking rail-connected dry ports and cargo depots across the UAE, including KEZAD Group’s Industry City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD).

The new network is designed to position Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals as dual gateways for UAE industries while supporting the efficient movement of industrial cargo across domestic and regional markets through an integrated rail-linked logistics infrastructure.

As part of the initiative, AD Ports Group signed Memoranda of Understanding with four major UAE industrial companies—Emirates Global Aluminium, EMSTEEL Group, Al Ghurair Iron & Steel, and Tenaris -which will serve as anchor industrial cargo clients within the rail-linked inland logistics network.

The network will facilitate the movement of industrial raw materials, feedstock, finished goods, and strategic cargo between production facilities, inland markets, ports, and regional trade corridors.

It will connect Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals with inland dry ports, ICAD, and cargo depots across the UAE, creating an integrated logistics backbone to support industrial and trade activity.

The initiative is intended to improve supply chain resilience and operational efficiency by providing manufacturers with more reliable inbound access to industrial inputs and greater flexibility for outbound cargo distribution through multiple inland and maritime gateways.

The network will help reduce reliance on single gateways, strengthen corridor resilience, and improve connectivity between industrial zones and export markets across the UAE and the wider region.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, said that the consolidated multimodal logistics network, supported by leading national industrial companies, would further strengthen the UAE’s industrial logistics infrastructure and enhance the commercial utilization of the country’s national rail network.

Al Shamisi added that the project would provide improved access to industrial inputs, greater export flexibility, and long-term competitiveness for national supply chains.

The network is expected to support the UAE’s industrial growth strategy by improving cargo connectivity between ports, industrial zones, and end markets while providing manufacturers with more efficient access to raw materials and export channels through Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals.
