The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority (ADCDA) has earned global accreditation from the US-based National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), recognizing it as an international testing proctor in the field of fire and explosion investigations.

ADCDA was also honored at NAFI’s annual conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, in recognition of its advanced institutional approach to capacity building and the development of technical investigation systems aligned with the highest international standards.

This achievement marks a significant strategic milestone for ADCDA, allowing professionals across the UAE and the wider region to pursue globally recognized certifications such as Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator, and Certified Fire Investigation Instructor. It also contributes to strengthening local expertise in this specialized field.

As part of its continued institutional growth, ADCDA has successfully certified 19 investigators from its technical teams through an intensive training program. The program included accredited courses and professional assessments based on internationally recognized standards and protocols.

These efforts enhance the precision of incident analysis, improve root cause identification, support the formulation of preventive policies, and reinforce overall safety and emergency response systems.

HE Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of ADCDA, stated that this global accreditation reflects the confidence of leading international institutions in the capabilities of national professionals and the authority’s training framework. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to advancing specialized expertise in line with the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

He further emphasized that qualifying fire investigators to international standards is essential for strengthening proactive prevention systems. Scientific analysis, he noted, enables data-driven decision-making, enhances preventive strategies, and improves institutional preparedness, ultimately contributing to the protection of lives and property and enhancing the overall quality of life in Abu Dhabi.

NAFI also praised the authority’s institutional progress, highlighting its leadership in developing training and qualification systems that align with global best practices. The association described the ADCDA as a benchmark for excellence in capacity building and professional development.
