HE Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Chairman of Supply and Transport Committee, has assured that the UAE’s supply chains and transport systems are operating efficiently and without disruption, ensuring a steady flow of goods and maintaining market stability.
The minister asserted that the system functions within an integrated, resilient framework that enables the country to respond effectively to regional developments while safeguarding the continuity of goods and services.
Integrated framework ensures uninterrupted flow
Al Mazrouei pointed out that the UAE’s supply chain and transport system is built on a comprehensive national framework led by the Supply and Transport Committee, focused on ensuring supply chain continuity and regulating freight movement in line with strategic national needs.
The committee plays a central role in developing flexible operational and regulatory mechanisms, including monitoring shipment movements, directing distribution routes, and coordinating with federal and local entities to enhance logistics efficiency and preparedness.
Regulatory measures boost operational readiness
A dedicated national team has been formed to oversee freight operations, strengthen alternative routes, and monitor markets to ensure the stable flow of essential goods and rapid response to emerging challenges.
The committee has adopted a package of regulatory and oversight measures, including assessing the country’s requirements for essential goods, updating priority lists, and approving integrated operational plans in cooperation with port operators, covering handling, transport, and storage operations, in a manner that ensures the uninterrupted continuity of trade flows and supply chains, the minister said.
He also highlighted flexible facilitation measures for licensing requirements for maritime and land transport companies, alongside support for logistics service providers to ensure uninterrupted operations.

“The UAE has adopted a proactive approach to developing its supply system through investment in advanced infrastructure, the launch of a package of flexible initiatives, and the strengthening of partnerships with the private sector, which represents a key pillar in the operation and management of supply chains, thereby contributing to enhanced operational efficiency and faster response to changing developments.”
Ports, maritime sector demonstrate high efficiency
The minister noted that UAE ports continue to demonstrate high operational efficiency, supported by advanced management systems, flexible capacity, and strict regulatory compliance, including vessel traffic management and periodic reporting. He added that maritime assets on the eastern coast are operating at full capacity, serving as a strategic logistics gateway supporting trade continuity with participation from port operators across the country.
Road, rail integration boosts cargo movement
An integrated operational plan for road and rail transport has been implemented, including reorganised routes, adjusted truck operating hours, and improved connectivity with storage centres to accelerate cargo movement and enhance efficiency, the minister stated.
HE Al Mazrouei also affirmed continuous monitoring of vessels in UAE territorial waters in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure maritime safety and security under an advanced oversight framework. He noted ongoing coordination with Gulf Cooperation Council countries to facilitate goods movement and strengthen regional supply chain resilience.
Since the beginning of March 2026, UAE ports have handled more than 25,000 containers, reflecting sustained operational efficiency and system readiness. He underscored that these efforts reinforce economic security and position the UAE as a leading global hub in transport and logistics, supported by a model based on proactiveness, integration, and partnership.
