Tuwaiq Academy, in partnership with Alinma Bank, has concluded the second edition of the AMAD Fintech Hackathon, held at The Garage in Riyadh, with the event setting a Guinness World Record as the world’s largest fintech hackathon.
The three-day competition brought together more than 6,000 participants, both in person and online, from over 2,800 teams across Saudi Arabia.
Teams submitted more than 2,800 projects focused on addressing challenges and opportunities in the financial technology sector.
The hackathon featured six competition tracks covering generative artificial intelligence for fintech, customer experience, financial literacy, open banking, gamification, and financial regulation.
The initiatives were designed to encourage the development of practical digital solutions for the financial services industry while promoting innovation and technical skills.
Abdulaziz Alhammadi, Tuwaiq Academy CEO, said that the academy continues to invest in developing national capabilities through training camps, educational programs, technology competitions, and innovation initiatives.
Alhammadi added that the AMAD Hackathon forms part of these efforts by providing participants with a platform to develop ideas, apply emerging technologies, and collaborate on solutions for the fintech sector.
Organizers noted that the projects reflected current technological trends and demonstrated the growing interest in financial technology among students, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals across the Kingdom.

The event also provided opportunities for participants to work on solutions with potential applications across different areas of the financial industry.
The 2026 edition follows the inaugural AMAD Hackathon, which received a Guinness World Record in 2025 for being the largest hackathon held in Riyadh. This year’s event established a new record as the world’s largest fintech hackathon, according to Guinness World Records.
Tuwaiq Academy emphasized that the competition supports Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen its digital economy by encouraging innovation, developing local technology talent, and expanding the country’s fintech ecosystem through collaboration between the public and private sectors.
